I can relate to what you shared in your journaling. My mother was a great letter writing and I used to be better than I am now. Emails seem to have taken over. I told myself that this year I would write more letters... but it does not seem to be happening yet.

You have created a lovely page... nice soft colours.

I love your quote. I always was a lazy letter writer but I love e-mail. Love the layout and all the letters in the shelf.

Beautifully done layout, Gayle and I love your sentiment - I used to be such a good letter writer but have to admit I've fallen through the cracks somehow this year. I loved your quote! And I love the softness of the colors you've used for this layout - the ribbons around the letters remind me of all of those letters I have kept from those days of Rich being TDY!

I love seeing those stacks of letters! I keep old letters, too. Like everyone else who has commented already, I don't write letters the way I used to. But, through email, I keep in touch with old friends that I probably would never have written to as often, so I guess it's a trade-off. Still, there is something about handwriting and old stamps...

I love the little sentimental touches in your layout: the bluebird, the ribbons and lace. Lovely!

I have many bad memories of John Donne at school but this quote is lovely... beautiful page... and remember, those old letters don't look interesting and romantic for about 50 years so it is ok to email :-) not as pretty, but much easier... love the vintage card and letter to Uncle... :-)

Very pretty page and I love the little birdie looking up at us all so sweetly. Love the framing of your photos and how nicely they are organized. The soft blue colors are so pretty.

hand-written letters and notes are quite special these days... a good reminder, Gayle!

Beautifully done layout with lots of different elements! (I had completely forgotten about that postcard from Christmas Delight, but it is perfect for this layout!)
