Love letters

When I saw the challenge on Thursday I immediately thought of these letters, but we were gone all day and I didn't have time to do a layout. Then I remembered the April SS Club and this template and thought it was perfect for this layout. In case you can't read the journalling it is --"Years ago, Mother told me that she had found some old letters that she had written to Dad while he was overseas during WWII. I told her that I would like to have them. Over the years, sometimes she would say I could have them and sometimes she would say they were too silly for anyone to read. I promised that I wouldn't read them until after she was gone. When she developed dementia, she would always tell me I couldn't have them and she was going to throw them away. For a long time I thought she had, but finally, when she got really sick, I found them in an old purse, hidden in her closet. I honored my promise and just recently read them, 7 months after her passing. They are a treasure.

Beautiful layout! I love the journaling and that it is included as part of the layout! I like the lifted photo frames as well, just the perfect touch to the photos and layout!

I can relate to your story somewhat as I am going through a similar situation with my mom right now.

A year ago she had a stroke and her dementia got worse and she could no longer stay in her home and had to be moved to a nursing home. It is a wonderful thing you were able to find those letters and you honored her by not reading them till after she died. Such a touching LO.

Your LO is gorgeous: I love the colors and the way you've arranged everything. I love your attention to detail as well, for example, the tiny ink blot under the fountain pen. Wonderfully put-together! Your story is touching and beautiful. I'm so glad you were able to find the letters. They are a precious treasure, and can also be one more lovely reminder of your mother as she was.

I am sorry to hear about your Mother. My Mother had to go to a nursing home also. It was a very difficult time, so I know what you are going through. My thoughts are with you.
