"My Favorite Color" - April 2012 ATC

I'll bet you can tell what my favorite color is from this ATC! :D I discovered the "linear burn" blending mode on a previous layout and love how it acted on the frame around the pic - taking on whatever was behind it: the marbelized paper, sky - even the wooden dock! I had a lot of fun playing with filters, effects, etc in PE to turn a kinda gray, cloudy photo at my friend's lake house into a purple-ific day. :D

For this ATC I used:

BMU SS Styles: Painting Textures

KVE Brush Set: Starburst

BMU Dazzle Collection Biggie

JDE Watercolor Florals Collection

and my own photo

Wow! This caught my eye right away! That photo lends itself so beautifully to purple tones... your layering and blending is wonderful here, I really like the mood the colour change invokes... The quote really adds some depth to the page and I do like that little weeny butterfly in there flying around the flowers... cute touch! You have outdone yourself with the filters here, can you remember how you did it!?!? hee hee... wonderful ATC!

This is gorgeous! Beautiful purple, beautiful quote, and a beautiful photo! I love the effect of the oval frame. I also love your background paper; it's elegant and reminds me of waves. Wow is right!

Beautifully done. Thanks for describing your use of the color burn. I rarely use it, but your card is so lovely, it encourages me to check this mode out more often. Gotta love purple!

Beautiful Marilyn. Of course, purple is my favorite color too. You did a wonderful job on the blending. I'll have to try that one. Love that oval frame and what a beautiful background paper you have used. Love it all. And especially that itsy bitsy teeny butterfly.

This is pretty. After red, purple would be my next favourite colour. The effect you got from your playing around looks great.
