Ohhhh.. Jode. This is just so amazing. How many times do we scrap the GOOD parts of life, with happy, pretty layouts, but not many of us are brave enough to scrap the deep, dark side of sadness and depression. Wow.. You clearly have mastered Art Journaling and the digital scrapping medium to express both sides of our psyches and I applaud you for taking that risk.

I love how you show a bright, blue sunny day with birds singing -- shrouded by a dark curtain and the disjointed pieces scattered beneath the surface. Brilliant! and so graphically created. I've seen your optimistic and cheerful layouts and thank you for sharing another side of the human experience. I'm in awe. Thank you for putting a spotlight onto this very human emotion.... Awesome page and YOU are too!!

Wow. this is easily the most moving layout I have ever seen. Thank you for being willing to share this. It is incredible. Love how you captured the plea for the depression to stop with the signs peeping from behing the curtain. Again, you are a "phenomenal woman."

After reading the comments above mine, I don't know what I can add. This is truly impressive. Despite the subject matter, It has amazing beauty. TFS!

Wow, amazing layout. I am not good with words but I think Marilyn said it all. I love that draped black curtain. Oh and I nearly forgot, WOW!.

You really did show what depression feels like, Jode - you are such an awesome artist. I like the curtain showing the stop and detour signs behind it - oh, if it were just that easily pulled back and stopped! I love the disjointed parts at the bottom of your layout separting it from the rest of your layout - absolutely awesome! Another work of art, my friend.

You've hit the nail on the head of the disconnectedness depression brings. I do love that the curtain is a dark veil and not completely opaque and that there is the blue sky and singing birds just on the other side of the window because there is always hope shining through. Great depiction of a complicated subject and a courageous effort on your part to bring it to light. You are so very creative! PS, I love what Marilyn said - she is so amazing with words!

What the others said. I'm blown away with this depiction of depression. It puts into pictures all that people have told me about it. Thank you so much for being so open and honest with us. You are one super amazing woman.bighug.gifKay

This is an amazing expression, Jode.

Falling apart behind the shroud of all encompassing darkness blocking out the joy of life--what a very apt image of life with depression. I am amazed at your introspection and expression. Amazing! Marilyn really said it perfectly.

I agree - Marilyn expressed it beautifully. Your layout is a stunning communication of a very personal experience. I salute your bravery, and applaud your amazing skill.

Jode, all the preceding comments are so well said, all I can do is get on my feet, put my hands together, and give you a standing ovation!

Very moving page. You have incorporated many, many parts of depression into this layout. I can feel the darkness of the days when one is depressed and feels like he/she is falling apart. I like the touch of hope with the window only half covered.
