Speed Crop - 4/25 - Play Smart
journaling: For as long as I can remember my parents, brother Robbie, & my Uncle Pat & Aunt Katy have loved to play 42. I have watched a few times, & tried to learn at least once but have never mastered it. I haven’t had the pleasure of watching one of those games in years until recently. They say that all too often, people you care about only gather when something wonderful has happened... or something sad. On Good Friday this year Kathy, Mimi to my kids, passed away. It was with a heavy heart that we banded together to support Dad. On the Saturday after Mimi left us we got together at Robbie & Cinda’s house to visit. It was there that my family sat down to a long overdue game of 42. I felt like a kid again watching them play. I was all too aware of how precious time is, how quickly things can change. I watched my son sitting at the table, trying to follow the game & was suddenly very nostalgic for days gone by. I think it’s time to learn how to play 42.
