May 2012 SS Club Layout 2 Beach

I like the painted image look of this month's club and decided to go for a painting-within-a-painting look for this layout. I used Brandy Murry's Ultimate Artist Action on the smaller "painting" -- a photo I took last week at the beach. Thanks to the chat and the tutorial within this month's Club, I also tried my hand at "painting" part Laura's background paper with PSE brushes, something I hadn't tried before. Thanks again for a lovely SS Club! And thanks for looking. (Info is in the exif).

Wow! You are so, so good with Brandy's Ultimate Artist Action! Great idea to combine a painted photo with the painterly bg. I am so drawn to your watercolor picture in this, but I also really love the way you varied the colors for your title, to convey sand and sea. The "light touch" of the colors and embellies really enhances your theme. I also REALLY like the softy painted clouds, and the sand grasses look great. Simply charming in every way!! BTW, I am SO jealous that you were in this scene and at the beach already, LOL!

Beautifully done page Diane! Great job with Brandy's Ultimate Artist Action and I love the "painting" you did with brushes. I love all of it and I'm adding it to my favorites ;)

I really love what you did with the background paper! It feels more like a sand dune then the rolling hills I had originally envisioned! Your colors are beautiful and the whole page feels very peaceful!

Wow! this looks good and I do like the beach/ocean. Your background just looks like a beach scene and well done with the work on the photo. I can see you had some fun with this page.

Diane! This leapt off the gallery at me! Your work on that photo is wonderful, I just love how you faded out the 'paint'... It looks fantastic... And Laura is do right... That looks exactly like sand dunes we have here with little grasses growing on them more than green rolling hills and I think that was such a creative take on the club... Painting on photos is fun but you have taken it a step further... Try the art diary brush from marchs Ss club if you enjoyed this :-) fabulous page!

Dear Florida Granny,

I love what you did to your photo and the background. Oh how I wish you would step by step tell me what and how to do this project. (Or come to my house and sit beside me while you tutor me.) I'd better start reading Roe's book again. Anyway, I can't get over the beauty of your page. Well done!

I really love your whole concept for this layout. The painting within the painting and both painted so artistically. I love the watercolor feel you accomplished with the photo painting and the pastel or oil feel to the background paper. The clouds, paintbrush and background are great and the extracted letters are awesome. What a beautiful job.
