My grandchildren attend the elementary school where Jeff Kinney, author of the Wimpy Kid series, went to school. We moved to Maryland when our younger daughter was in 6th grade, as was Jeff; the next year they were both in the same middle school as our older daughter, Karin - who now teaches third grade in the same school. Jeff also attended the high school - all boys at the time - where I taught for 20 years, although he was not in any of my classes. But as he was signing books, he reminded me that I had "hired" him to sit in the back of a class that was giving me difficulties and identify the miscreants. I'd forgotten all about that!
