Task 10 - Love Never Ends

This page is a tribute to my parents, especially my dad. These last few weeks have been very hard, so I wanted to scrap this very touching, bittersweet photo of my mom kissing my dad in the hospital. He had an operation on his broken hip and will go through weeks of rehab. Since he was Mom's sole caregiver, our family moved her to memory care. There were tears streaming down my face as I designed this page.

Journaling: My dad modeled godly, self-sacrificing love as he cared for my mom, who has Alzheimer's. He broke his hip in June, 2012, and probably will never be able to live independently with his wife of 57 years again, but his love for her will never end.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

~ I Corinthians 13:7-8a

Such a love story. It makes me cry. They look totally in love. Such a treasured photo for you. You have scrapped this so perfectly.

There were tears streaming down my face as I designed this page. My parents are so special, and my dad has been a saint as he has dealt with the "slow good-bye" of Alzheimer's, watching his wife slip away, yet caring so lovingly for her. Thank you for your kind comment.

Same here! Brought tears to my eyes with the beautiful photo and journaling and message. You've made a true work of art with this layout, Sue. The colors are just right for that picture.....that wonderful, wonderful picture. TFS.

Oh, Sue what a touchingly beautiful page and me too - tears reading your journaling and looking at your special photo. You scrapped it in such a special way - I love the heart crop, your loving words and quote... Such a sad hard time but touching tribute to your parents. Thank you for sharing.

Alzheimer's is so cruel, the patient doesn't know any different but everyone around them is affected... I love the fact that you caught this shot of them sharing a tender moment as I can only wonder if she remembers who he is 5 mins later... But obviously all the years together raise through the veil and give her some clarity... Indeed a difficult time for you all, but what a wonderful example your father is, for better or for worse... Love that you quoted that verse which is often used at weddings and possibly was at theirs 57 years ago... A great link... I also really like the flowers beneath the heart frame... Again it almost has a wedding album feel to it and is a testament to their love, beautiful.

Oh, gosh, I don't know why I didn't see this before, but it is just beautiful! Add me to the list of those needing Kleenex just seeing the picture, never mind the lovely journaling. This is touching and tender, and you put the page together beautifully. I especially like the texture you've added to the heart. Your Dad sounds like a wonderful man. I wish him well and hope that he recovers better than anyone expects.
