Friday Customer Submitted Challenge 6-15-12 -- I <3 COLOR

Today's Challenge comes from popscrap who wants us to have some "Font Mix Fun! Make your own wordart/title with at least 2 visually different and sized fonts and/or alphas. Add a bit of embellishment to is as well. Then show it off in a layout."

I chose to use multiple ALPHAS to make my title and have it be just about all the embellishment on my page! I am an ALPHA lover, so this was a great bit of fun...and a little tricky to pick just 6 alphas to use (kind of like choosing which child you love most). These are the ones that worked best on this layout. I had fun doing a page without a pic of any people. The pic is an altered photo of some fabrics I'm using for a craft project. And I enjoyed making a LO about me (not a very frequent occurrence). My supplies are listed below along with the journaling.

Supplies:

Journaling:

There's a story my mom loves to tell of when I was an infant. She would try to put me in a yellow dress, and I'd scream and squirm until she'd get the pink dress from closet and put me in it. While pink is no longer at the very top of my "Favorite Colors List", I must admit that color IS still important to me. Color is very powerful: evoking emotion, memories, and even ambiance. It's no wonder that one of my favorite parts of scrap- ping, sewing and crafting in general is color. I love to play with the color wheel (yes, I know, that's a bit odd). I love watching elements come alive by the juxtaposition of colors. And I love to recreate the mem- ories in my scrap pages by choosing colors carefully. I'm enjoying sharing my love of color with our girls as well. They are learn- ing to see the colors of our world as precious and are playing with them in crafting as well. This makes my heart so glad. So while I no longer scream and squirm if my clothes aren't the right color (well, not most of the time) I'm here to say loudly, "I love color!"

What a cool layout! The mixed alphas in COLOR just look so funky, and i love how you incorporated the journalling into the heart, which is also part of your title and the main focus. Clever! =)

(Isn't pink just one of the greatest colours ever? Heehee!)

When I saw this in the Gallery, the color on your page drew me right in. Words like "luscious" come to mind. Beautiful page! you must have had a blast choosing all those wonderful alphas and they all look fabulous together. I love the idea of the fabric stash, too. The heart design expresses perfectly what you say in your journaling, and the whole page looks great.

PS -- How nice that you made a page about you!

Lovely page! I like your special journaling and striking design. The colorful papers and alpha make the page so cool that I didn't notice there was no photo until you mentioned it. Beautifully done!
