Tues 6-26 Freebie Challenge

This was such a lovely freebie that I had to use it in a LO. This snapshot of my mother was taken by my father. He wrote "1939 World's Fair" on the back, but I scanned it and used it as the title tag here. The background photo is from the Internet blended into Cindy Rohrbough's lovely art-Deco looking Cherished Treasures Metal paper. All info is in the exif. TFL!

Oh, Diane what a lovely page! Such a treasure to have that gorgeous photo of your Mom and to use your Dad's printing as a tag and I love the special layout you created with them. I love how you framed the photo and how amazing to find an internet photo of the same scene that your Mom is sitting in front of. I really like how you blended it with a "framed" background and the sepia, almost "glowing" tone to it all. Oh! And what a super use of the freebie, too. I got so caught up in the whole I almost didn't notice it! Absolutely a wonderful page. Love it! :)

This is great! That's a great photo to have of your Mom, and using your Dad's handwriting as your title is an excellent idea! Gorgeous background and frame too. Going into favourites. =)

Just gorgeous Diane! That photo is wonderful, I can see where you got your good eye from! What a striking pose and great background... Clever to use a similar photo blended in to show us how it was at the time, and to blend it into a dark paper like that... gives such a great vintage feel... And I also like the handwritten title, makes it so personal and meaningful... I don't know where you get your ideas but I LOVE this one! I am popping it into my favourites now as I may lift this idea at some stage.... wheels are turning.... wink!

What a wonderful layout, and such a delightful bit of family history for you. The only comment I can add to what's been said is that I really like the muted blue-gray tone you used for the frame overlay - it's perfect with the background color and the freebie.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous. How great that you have that photo of your Mom at the site. It is a beautiful layout but I also feel excited viewing it because it was such a special time of celebration and the background night shot displays that so perfectly.
