Jounaling: While doing research for the itinerary for our

Western trip, I discovered that the head

waters of the Mississippi River come out of

a lake in Itasca State Park in Minnesota. We

visited there on our way through the state and

were amazed at the modest beginning of the

mighty Mississippi! The surrounding area was

very pretty and serene. May, 2012

I love your travel layouts. Your photos are so good and you include maps, which I like. This is a really good one.

Great page. I really like the way you have blended the map into the background. Nice photos of the signs - works well to identify where you are as well as being interesting shots. Great journaling, too.

What a beautiful background with the map blended into your photo! Love that you include pictures of the signs I try to remember to do that, too.

That's it? You're right, what humble beginnings! This is another beautiful LO. I like the big picture as the focus and the smaller pictures as accents.

This page means a lot to me because Itaska State Park is a place my family visited when I was a little girl, my husband and I went to on our honeymoon, and our family stopped at to camp when the boys were younger. Lovely, rustic page with the corrugated, cardboard, curled, and grungy textures. I like the blended photo in the background with the map above --- cool effect! How did you get a photo without any people in it? Whenever we've been there, lots of folks were wading across the "Mighty Mississippi"!

I love your LO! You're so creative! Enjoyed the journaling, the ghosted map and the matting of the photos. Nice embellishments!
