Journaling: I used to bake these cookies with my Grammy Bert when I was little. They remain one of my favorites and I love that I can bake them with my kids now.

Recipe:3 c. Oatmeal (NOT Quick Cooking!!!)3 c. flour1 c. melted butter1/3-1/2 c. buttermilk1 c. sugar1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. baking powder
Cream sugar & butter; add milk, soda, oatmeal & at end add flour with baking powder & salt. Shape and gently press into rounds. Will not expand. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. They are pale.
