Friday 8/17 & Monday 8/13 Challenges: "Melissa Garden"

I combined two challenges: Friday Customer submitted "What's blooming?" and Monday's "LeftHander Day".

Journaling reads:

"My Melissa Garden was created in memory of my Goddaughter Melissa who died in a car accident at the age of 19. Melissa was a beautiful soul and we still feel her with us. I think of her sweet spirit each time I look at the garden. This year Judi planted impatiens in the shape of an “M”."

For this layout I used:

SNU Camille's Garden Collection Mini

BMU SS Paper Templates: Lace Edge

SNU Brush Set: Painted

JRA SS Embellishment Templates - Photo Masks: Watercolours

and my own photos

Beautiful and touching! Using a misty, blended photo in the background is inspired; it has a lovely spiritual look. The impatiens in the shape of "M" is poignant, too. I love the lacy edges and, of course, the black frame. I also like how the jewels lead your eye to the journaling. This is a truly special page!

I love this!!! Your beautiful ethereal background photo with those pretty pink impatiens highlighted in the foreground... The flowers are a lovely choice for a young lady and your garden a tribute to a sweet soul and your page a touching memory to a dear girl and god daughter... Your blending is always so lovely but this time it was your journalling that drew me into that garden world, well done!

Marilyn this is so beautiful. I love the way you blended the garden photo in to the lacey paper, so sweet and innocent. What a very special way to honor the memory of such a young girl. The impatiens in the form of an M is such a nice idea. Love how the dark background really brings the whole page into focus.

What a beautiful garden in memory of Melissa. My heart goes out to you. I love how you blended the photo into the background. It has a very other worldly quality to it. You did a fabulous job on this and the garden. Love the photo of the Impatiens. I'm sure Melissa is looking down and smiling.

The impatiens is so pretty and so touching. I am so sorry for your loss. It's just never fair to lose someone so young. She must have been special. This is a lovely tribute.

This is really lovely. What a very special layout. I love the photos, the blending and the pretty lace paper. It's so sad when the children die so young.
