Photos from Labor Day weekend - we went to the Japanese Festival

Journaling:

This was Tracy’s first experience at the Japanese Festival with the grownups and cousins. We spent Saturday doing many child-oriented activities. She enjoyed dressing up in kimono, walking around the Japanese Garden, feeding the koi, spending her money on Japanese candies and a pretty parasol, and watching the Candyman’s act. I think her favorite part was climbing into the dashi and learning to play taiko from Rosemary, one of the taiko performers. Tracy loved the Festival so much, she begged to return the following day! We brought her back Sunday, when we watched a kimono fashion show, the sumo demonstration, taiko performances by both the Community Group and Performance Group, and took a candlelight walk around the Japanese Gardens. Even though they were long days with lots of walking, sitting, and standing, plus alternating periods of heat and rain, Tracy rarely complained! In fact, she is already talking about returning next year!

Great photos and journaling! It sounds like Tracy (and you) had a wonderful weekend!

You've really made the freebie paper festive with the trims that you've added. I love the curl, too and that pretty Asian paper underneath. Super pretty layout!
