Wednesday 9/5 HNC "Travel" & Tuesday 9/4 Freebie Challenges

I used the Tuesday Freebie to make my Travel page, but I altered it a bit! :)

Journaling reads:

"I got my lifelong wish to visit Wrigley Field when I visited Indiana and Judi, Skeeter and I traveled to Chicago. We also went to Nike Town where Skeeter insisted on buying me a new pair of "good tennis shoes". In NJ we call them "sneakers" and I was in awe of these! They were a lovely gray/purple with tips of soft black and gray stripes rounding the shoe. They felt SOOOOoo good and while I wore them to the Cubs game, I worried the entire time they might get food dropped on them... Well, those sneakers made it not only through the game but many years afterwards. Those special "tennies" walked many miles, but I was always very careful about where I wore them. I finally had to face reality and get rid of them last year, but they fought the good fight! I still miss those sneakers and they always reminded me of a special time."

For this layout I used:

SNU Brush Set: Painted

JRA SS Embellishment Templates: Photo Masks - Watercolour

ABR Batter Up Collection

Love the way you used the freebie! Inspired to add the white pieces... it really breaks it up and looks super with those white sneakers... I loved your journalling, very honest and fun. That big picture looks wonderful with your extractions and I liked seeing the sneakers in both states! Wonderful page!

Great blending - I love it, especially the extracted people on top! Neat page and journaling; I enjoyed reading about your Nike experience.

What a great story, and such a beautiful way to tell it. There are so many interesting aspects to enjoy--the photo filter, the "fence" overlay, the extracted figures, journaling and shoe sketches. LOVE it!

Ooooh, I like the shoes! I know the feeling about not wanting to retire really favorite pairs of tennies:)

I like the large photo up top with the wide strips of journaling and smaller photos below.

We would call them trainers, amazing how you made them last so long. I love the photos you used and the way you did your journalling. Great layout.

Marvelous journaling! I love the way you've illustrated your story - and am amazed that you actually thought to photograph your new shoes at the time! By the way, I love the addition of the baseball stitching on the freebie paper.

This is a lovely example of scrapping memories! I love it!

This is great Marilyn. I too grow attached to my sneakers (I'm a NYer) and have a hard time retiring them. Great idea to photo them, especially around the special circumstances. The photo of Wrigley field looks great blended into the background and I really enjoyed your journaling. Love the stitching, ball and bat too!
