My great grandfather Anders Gustaf Thörn (pronounced Tearn, our Swedish extra letters can be hard!) when he got a medal at the 100 years anniversery of the building of Göta Kanal. He was a lockkeeper (is that the right word? Google translate says so). The photo is from a book.

I used Brandy M's Shabby Blanc collection Shabby Blanc Pennant and Shabby Bakery

Cool photo!! I really like the way you blended it into the background paper and really like the aged background paper with text, great vintage feel! Thanks for joining!

Wonderful layout. What a gem of a photo. I like how the leaves and ribbon add interest and depth without being feminine.

What a wonderful story!! I enjoyed reading about your great grandpa Thörn :-) I even figured out your journalling before I saw it translated lol! Lock keeper seems right to me- he was in charge of raising and lowering the water levels when a boat came through, right?? That makes him a lock keeper in my book. Wonderful use of neutrals again :-)
