A Thousand Cranes

 Share

Here are some more theater photos. I was so pleased to direct this play about Sadako Sasaki, a young girl who survived the Hiroshima bomb and later develops leukemia. Japanese tradition says that if a person folds 1000 cranes he or she will be granted a wish. We had over 1000 paper cranes on our set that were later sent to the peace memorial in Hiroshima.

Beautiful photos. The soft background really highlights the pictures. We once had a Japanese student stay with us for a few weeks. She showed us lots of origami folding. It is such a neat hobby.
