Oct 11 - Extraction - Key Biscayne Peacock

Took this photo over the weekend. Driving in Key Biscayne there was a group of Peacocks, atleast 10 just grazing along the roadside. We pulled over and I took some photos. The peacocks were very accomodating and unafraid but they wouldn't smile for the camera or show their feathers, which we think the park may trim to discourage people from hurting the birds...? Thought this one would be good for the challenge of photo extraction (which worked great) and then desaturating the background. Thanks for the tutorial Jody!

Oh my! I LOVE this! Stunning colors, and that turquoise background almost looks like a spray of paint. It really brings out the peacock colors. How wonderful it must be to see peacocks along side of the road. Great photo, and great page!

Wow, this truly IS stunning! I have always wanted this collection but never knew what I'd do with it! Well, you found the perfect photo and did a gorgeous job with it all. I love your masking/blending and title and that bird looks so pretty even with his feathers closed. Really great page! :)

Another great page Cherryl Ann! I am so glad you tried and enjoyed this technique, it really isn't so hard is it? You chose a wonderful picture to use too - the colours of that gorgeous bird deserve to stand out... you highlighted him beautifully too with the teal and the blended feathers and larger one - really draws the eye, well done!
