Monday 10/15 - I need more - Time

I need more time! Who doesn't? I realize it more now with children as you see the passing of time literally before your eyes. I think Pink Floyd said it best in the song Time. When we are young there is so much of it that we indulge in it and then before you know it there's not enough. There is a verse on the post it note. Here are the lyrics.

 

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town

Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

 

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

 

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Oh Pink Floyd brings back so many memories of my student days. I've never really paid heed to the lyrics but seeing them written down like that, they are really quite moving (and oh so accurate) This is a great LO which seems to me to have layers of meaning. Great job!

Wow! Your art journal style is perfect for this theme. The glowing clock edge, purple clock hands, and ravens add to the surreal quality. This especially spoke to me because DH and I are bumping up against the realization that many of the things we always assumed would happen in our lives won't; there isn't time for everything, and we need to be clear about what we want most. Oh, Cheryll Ann this is wonderful! I love your beautifully blended background - complete with sparkles. It looks so magical! I also really love your journaling/lyrics and the large clock showing times passage - and how creative to have it coming off the page! The Ravens around the page are perfect and I like how you hung the rings on the swirls. I keep looking around and around all the pieces to this specatacular and thoughtful page. Great work! :)
