The journalling is the notes my mother wrote on the back of this photo:

Eden’s costume had a black satin bodice and a red satin tiered skirt trimmed with black lace. Her mantilla was black net and she wore as much of my costume jewellery as she could manage. She was delighted when I allowed her to wear a smudge of my red lipstick. As a special treat we made a non-alcoholic Sangria for the children.

How wonderful that you used your Mom's notes on the back of a photo for your journaling! Love the black paper with the wood trim frame around it and I really like the way you've grouped your pictures.

Awesome that you have your Mother's notes on the back of the photo! Great idea to use it as the journalling. Love the sangria in the background with the photo in front. Very artsy. Also really like the Kilroy stamp.

I love the way you made the journaling an important part of the layout. The description helps so much with the black & white photo. Love the sangria image blended into the background.

It is a wonderful layout, particularly because of your mother's notes. So many pictures have nothing or just name and dates that little things like the Sangira and lipstick are forgotten (and I suspect that will get worse with digital where you can't even write on the back).

LOL....love the "Kilroy was here!" I drew those EVERYWHERE as a young girl and got into so much trouble! Love your mom's notes as journaling! The chalkboard effect is awesome! One of my FAVS.
