Our first trip on the brand new trail! Despite a slow start due to problems with C’s bike (see Jeff hauling it back from repair at the van), we eventually made it from Slater to the west side of the Des Moines River across the very scenic bridge. We left C’s (fixed) bike in a ditch when he got tired and went on with him on the tandem and M & W in the trailer. On the way home we stopped at the Tiger Bowl in Madrid for dinner. The kids still talk about that two years later! Then we picked up C’s bike in the van on the way home after dark. If it wasn’t for GPS we might not have been able to find his bike with the van.
