Christmas Long Ago
This is my little sister, Nancy, and I. She was three and I was about to turn seven in January. Every year my dad painted something on our front windows - Santa Claus, a nativity - every year was something different. We were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve and it was always a new pair of jammies to wear to bed that night and new slippers for in the morning. And shoot, I just remembered that more often than not the slippers were knitted by my grandmother. I wish I had remembered that before I finished the page!
