Immanuel
I am having fun scrapping some of the poems I've written over the years. I did this a few years ago for an Advent art event with our church . . . hand calligraphed. This was much easier, way more fun, and I think the images really make a difference. Been wanting to do something with this collection of Elisha's for a while now and it just hit me today. I might use this as a Christmas card this year. I used SilentNight Collection, along with the associated styles. TFL.
Text reads:
God.
Almighty God.
God with us.
Immanuel
Love carried in a virgin’s womb,
The giver of life destined for a borrowed tomb.
Perfection wrapped in the rags of humanity
And nestled under the shadow of the cross
Immanuel
The prince of peace
Invading the peace of the empire,
The one who never sleeps
Resting in a manger.
Immanuel
Holy uncreated One
Born to His creation,
God stepping out of eternity
and into time.
Immanuel
Here. Now. Present
Among us.
With us.
God.
Immanuel
