Merry Christmas

I find it hard to scrap Christmas photos. Do you coordinate your supplies with the colors in the decorations, or the colors of the clothes on the people? Sure - you could change the photos to black and white or sepia, but sometimes the its clothes we're wearing that is important. In this photo, my husband Steve and I are wearing green and brown, cream and teal. I'd carefully chosen my outfit (and Steve's, lol) to wear for our Christmas Eve celebration. I wanted to show that off in the photos, so I chose to use my Teal Zeal collection. And the dangle chains were perfect for hanging the ornaments! Sure, there's a little bit of red pop from the Christmas tree in the background, but it's the people I wanted to showcase here. Who says you have to use a Christmas collection to scrap your holiday photos? Use your favorite - and add a few Scrap Simple Embellishment templates - and recolor them to coordinate. Now you've designed your own "Christmas" collection.

Good ideas, Elisha. The ornaments & pine make this Christmasy even though the colors aren't traditional. Such a nice layout - the bit of teal blended into the cream &the hanging ornaments are just lovely. Into my favorites. Scraplift coming soon to a gallery near you.

How I loved that gorgeous blended background!!! And I also loved the colors you used. Although I’m a die-hard Xmas Red & Green lover, I do so enjoy seeing these unusual color combinations used for Christmas photos. I look at them and think “Why can’t I do that”. Great photo of the two of you and great use of your products.

This is gorgeous! I like your explanation of how you made the page. The dangling ornaments look wonderful with your Teal Zeal background and your photo.

I really like the look of this layout! I agree with the others that your explanation is very good. The hanging ornaments and the watercolor mark seem to tie everything together into a really designer look Christmas! Thanks for sharing such great inspiration.
