Saturday 12-15 Color Challenge

Of course, this is another layout based on photos from Italy. :) I was fascinated by the Nativity Scene at the cathedral in Sorrento. Instead of just the Holy Family and a sheep or two, this one spanned yards of space and depicted a whole village, with the Holy Family at the top of the hill. Angels were suspended from the ceiling as well. The whole scene was behind glass, so I hope you can see the details. It was quite beautiful.

I tried to follow this week's colors, but had to sneak in a bit of purple in the embellishments. TFL

Thanks for sharing these photos from your wonderful holiday - they would be great to see in real life. Your page is put together nicely and the purple for the challenge looks good.

I am loving your photos from Italy. They are superb. This Nativity scene is wonderful. The colors in you layout are so rich, I can only imagine how splendid they must have been in real life. The background paper is such a pretty compliment to the richness of the photos and I also love the aged curled frames. Just lovely.

I love all the detail in these scenes... your photography is superb here, it must have been really hard to get it all in! What a scene... fancy the work involved in putting all those pieces together... whew! I like your damask paper with these photos and the simple embellishments... really pretty.

On my monitor, the photos have a kind of purple impression (not off-color, just bits of almost purple here and there that blend together) so it works really well. I've seen one of these nativities at a shrine near my mothers - so impressive, you can look forever with all the details. Love the cluster and the gold mat behind the photos. These scenes are so specific to a time and place, I find myself wondering what would be included in a modern one - I'm picturing little vignettes in my head, but how would you capture that?

Oh, this is just super. I love Nativities and this one is lovely and just like the one in an old Italian church nearby. Your embellishments and beautifully blended background completes a gorgeous Holiday page. I was so happy to see that the Italy tour went "Christmas" for a bit.
