For this layout I chose to scraplift Jody's Ring Of Kerry layout. I love the beautiful greens and the rainbow. In my layout I added a gradient soft colored rainbow to the background.

 

Journaling reads "I recently joined a camera club. There are monthly competitions. I entered this photo I took of Dylan over the Christmas Holiday. Taken with my new camera lense. I was a little concerned about all the green and blue in the photo, I was not confident that the photo had the right characteristics to be considered for a competition. I did the best I could on the photo and entered it. I was judged as a 9 out of 10! Wow, I am thrilled that the judge (who does not know who the photos belong to) rated my photo so highly. I have only just learned how to shoot in manual mode. January 2013"

It's gorgeous Cheryll Ann -- congratulations, that's great. Your photo is wonderful and I love his blue eyes against all the green. Your layout is great - I like the rainbow and the background you put together and how you used the Peacock Collection - just love that one.

Wow!!! You go girl!! 9/10 on your first comp?? I can see why... the balance is spot on, the focus is amazing on his eyes/face and the colours DO work beautifully... The layout you made with it is fabulous too... I love the gradient rainbow, it looks really effective, as does the 'burst' in the background paper... the string embellishments are just so wonderful for a boy and I love all the texture you managed to get into this page... thankyou for lifting me, this is a super page.

Congratulations on your score! I have not long started to enter my photos in camera club competitions. It's a wonderful feeling to hear the judge's comments and get a score. Our club marks out of 20 btw. Love the strong diagonal lines in the photo and the rather elfish look of young Dylan.

Great work & congrats on the rating in the competition! Love the way the colors in the photo are echoed in the peacock feather.
