not Monet, but...

I came across this little bridge in the Botanic Gardens of the small country town of Hamilton in Victoria, as I walked around it I was more and more reminded of Monet's Japanese Bridge at Giverny... this angle in particular with the trees and grasses in the shot struck me as particularly reminiscent of it... and I knew I had to use Camille's Garden with it! A simple border multiplied and some birds and I was done... really simple but I love the outcome. You might even notice I used the same alpha as I used in my Girlie Grunge tutorial - wonderfully versatile alpha, Amanda!

A stunning photo and layout. It draws you in and I was very interested in your techniques because it looks like a photo but definitely looks like a painting. The other thing that struck me is the colours, they are beautiful and sharp. Beautiful.

Oh jode this is just gorgeous and when I saw the small thumbnail on the MB I thought, "Monet's Water Lily" paintings. Stunningly beautiful photo and yes - it's so sharp and clear it almost looks 3D. Your background blending is wonderful and adds a painted effect to the page and I really like your title (you are making me want that alpha). I also really like the birds you added so well they look they are truly there. A superb and stupendously done layout. If it's this lovely on a page, it must have been spectacular place in person.. Great work.

You started with a gorgeous photo, but I love how the finished page looks like an Impressionist painting. Beautifully done! Thanks for the explanation of your techniques; it's our peek into the magician's bag of tricks. And I LOVE, love, love those Monet colors!! I want a copy of this for my wall!

I think Marilyn said it all. This page is glorious - it draws you in and across the bridge. I love the blue-green palette. Artfully created!

The blues and greens drew me to your layout, Jody - it's gorgeous. I love how much your page looks like a Monet painting - it's just beautifully done!
