GC South Rim-Watchtower

I've been fascinated by the watchtower since the first time I saw it, at least 10 years ago. I especially like the pictographs carved into the circular walls. These decorations were executed by Fred Geary, who faithfully copied drawings a petroglyphs found in ancient pueblos and cliff dwellings in throughout the Southwest. Some of their stories are explained in a guide available in the gift shop, but the meanings of many are not known.
