1/19 Color Challenge - Oakwood

When I saw the colors, I immediately thought of maple trees in the fall. Combined with the white tombstones, it makes a striking contrast. This is historic Oakwood Cemetery in Troy, NY. Many famous people are buried here and there are so many interesting tombstones. It's a beautiful spot, designed during the cemetery as park movement and one of it's jewels.

I did a ton of blending, but this started out as a scraplift of Jody's tutorial in the newsletter this week. I'm not sure what happened.

I got a kick out of your description of following Jody's tutorial. :D It looks like you found your own variation - and it's beautiful! I love the warm rich tones of your page. I especially like the mat and the gorgeous flower cluster. Lovely page!

I can definitely see that a ton of work went into this. It turned out beautiful and it looks like it must have been so much fun to create. Lovely blends of colors and the picture is a total contrast with the tombstones. A different kind of subject matter, for a great looking layout.

Oh, Aggie how gorgeous and I'm so glad I came back for a second look because i was sure I'd commented. I agree that all the beautiful and creative work you put into this page really shows in the end result. Lovely photo and I like how you matted it on the dainty lace piece. I also really like your pretty embellishment cluster and how it drapes down the side of the pic. Super title and placement and I really like your title too. Awesome layout.
