Another layout for my Mum.

I used two techniques I love on this layout. Firstly I used 5 different papers to create the background, using ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Layout Masks Grungy Stencils.
The second technique I used was recolouring. All the flowers, a ribbon, one leaf and two of the doilies have been recoloured to compliment my colour scheme. I love recolouring, it means I always have an embellishment in the colour I want.

Oh Valerie! This is lovely! The stencil type work, the blending, the muted colours and the doilies - they are perfectly toned for the period... this is so perfectly balanced and that HAS to be your mum and Ken doesn't it? Wonderful keepsake.

Awesome costumes! And your background looks great - I've looked and looked am still not sure I found all 5 papers. Valerie is right - great vintage color, too and the doilies are just the right embellishment.
Doesn't everyone recolor? It's one of the biggest bennies of digital. Someone in an old newsletter had a cute story about looking at a ribbon to wrap a present and thinking, this will work - I just need to tweak the color a little.

Beautiful, Valerie. You did a fabulous job adding five different papers to the background, it looks great. I usually recolor or at the least change the opacity on some of the papers so that others might show through. Love the lace doilies and the flower clusters. Your photos are wonderful. Great frame around the large photo.
