This is the exact technique I describe in my newsletter article using Syndee's Sprayed Paint Dynamic brush... I clipped my photo to a blank page and then 'painted' in the picture using white on the blank page... love the arty feel... I have used it many times on buildings but never on a pic like this before. This photo was taken from my yard of the lorikeet eating my neighbours flowers :-)

Interesting technique - I've been trying to figure out how to do it in GIMP. Do you do a spoongy erase in the middle, like with a grunge brush just with a very light hand?

Love those colorful birds, we don't have anything like that in the wild here, our birds are more monochrome. Great wordart in your title.

What an interesting bird! I don't think we have them here. The touch of bright color against the black and white is fabulous! And, you've sold me on that brush!

Very artistic. Love the bright color against the background. I tried this technique.... Did not look right. The trick is possibly the brush you used, and do you brush on the top or bottom layer. In your article it says the new layer... So bottom layer?

Lovely layout Jody. I love this technique and have used it several times since it was in the NL. I don't have that particular brush but have used several others and it works great using them too. I think I am going to go buy the brush you use since there is a sale. This is the technique I used in my layout today too!

Thanks for your tutorials, and it helps so much! Love your layouts, and I hope to try this. I used to do something like this with real paints.

Amazing work Jode and you use your technique so well- I've even spotted many others using it. I love the stark white of your page with the birds and title giving color and I really like the one burd perched on the title. Gorgeous layout. You rock.
