Thurs. 2/14 - Valentine's Card

Well, I didn't actually include a photo on this one, but I used several techniques. First, as Valerie did, I changed the colors. Most of my original elements were white or gray, which I used the color dropper and colorize tool to make shades of pink. Under the text, I created an oval with the select tool, feathered it to give it a soft edge and filled it with pink. I turned down the opacity until it covered the flower just enough to make the text readable. Finally, the flower outlines were open, so I added another layer, selected the petals, 'grew' it about 3 pixels and filled it with white.

Aggie this is beautiful in all ways. Love your journaling and the LOVE hearts dangling from the pretty ribbon across the page. Your background and blending is gorgeous too. Lovely card.

Just wonderful! I was reading your comments on my page and thinking about how you do such a beautiful job in GIMP when so many tutorials etc are done for PS/PSE... you are really so skilled... your blended paper is stunning and I think your recolouring is so good I would never have known! Love the vellum look to your paper too... This is super pretty and the verse is wonderful - I am sure everyone in your family would love to receive this card. Just gorgeous.
