Thursday Challenge 14 Feb (Favourite technique)

One of my favourite techniques to showcase a photo is simply to add a thick white inside stroke to it, thus adding a photo border. When i need to call attention to text elements that would otherwise fade into the background, i like to add an outer glow or stroke.

The father in the photo is my father-in-law, and the daughter my sister-in-law. My FIL is a rather unconventional guy (by Asian standards) in that he would actually hold hands with his grown kids when out and about, just to show his affection for them. Until his recent retirement, he was mostly outstationed and rarely got to spend time with his family, and photos like these are relatively rare. This layout was thrown together relatively quickly by my standards, but i like the photo so much that i didn't want to leave it unscrapped.

Supplies in EXIF, thanx for looking! =)

It's a great photo, I see why you wanted to scrap it! Your text looks very nice, too & I do like that pretty shade of peach with the cream & gray borders.

Beautifully done. I love the the way you put your background together and your photo is really lovely. I really enjoyed your journaling and think your FIL's unconventional ways are just wonderful!

Beautiful photo! I'm so glad you scrapped it. I like your techniques, especially adding a glow behind text. It looks perfect here: it doesn't intrude yet helps us notice it. Great idea!!

Beautiful layout and photo, I love the soft colours and the strips of ribbon and lace. I really like your journalling strips too. Thanks for joining the challenge.
