Thursday Challenge - Special

Got a bit confused on the date of this photo, Ben looks about 1, but the sofa in the photos (which I cropped out) was replaced well before then. I settled on 6 months old as a guess. I wasn't coping well at the time and wouldn't take any photos, so I've got nothing to compare it to.

What a cutie, with an adorable smile, love all the layering of papers and sip lodges of paint, even love everything going through the middle and the blank space around the clusters of everything. Thank goodness you started taking photos again, can you imagine life without all your beautiful LOs? TFS xxx

I really like the way you used a white background and then added all the things behind the photos to anchor them to the page. That's a technique I haven't tried yet. Nice work!

Love the smile, so glad you caught this one. It must have been a really stressful time. The layout is beautiful! I like the white background with the border, but the cluster of photos & elements on top is awesome!

Oh Valerie I can only imagine the heartache and sadness you must have been going through. If only you knew what you knew now - how far Ben would go. I am so happy to see this page as the first one I remember seeing of yours was Ben walking for the first time - congratulations, you all have come so far.

I can see why you picked a "smile" layout for Ben's week - wow, his sure does light up a room and make me smile too. I love your sweet photos and all the wonderful pieces you put together behind it so masterfully. Super use of white space too. A lovely, meaningful page.

This is so awesome Valerie. Love those adorable smiles from Ben. The watercolor splatters in the background are a great addition and I love the notepaper, ribbons and ric rac adorning the page. Beautifully done.

Whatever his age was, he already had that special smile! What a sweetie. I love the colorful mix of your accents against the white background. Cute layout -- I'm glad you decided to scrap what must have been an overwhelming time in your life.
