3/2/13 Saturday Color Challenge: "Wyoming"

I started this layout for the 2/13 Journaling Chat but finished it with a few color tweaks for the Saturday Color Challenge.

If you'd like to see the color swatch and join the challenge, here's the thread: 3/2/13 Saturday Color Challenge

(Ok Carla. I had some trouble, but finally used these lovely watercolor resist templates.  Whew.)

Journaling reads:

"I took this photograph of the Teton Mountains when I visited Wyoming and a few years later decided to paint it when my Watercolor class was working on miniatures.  True to this quote, I sure do paint my own nature.   My watercolors are always very realistic, precise and full of detail, very much like a part of me."

For this layout I used:

KME SS Word Art Templates: Watercolor Resist - Art

DEB Altered Art Collection Biggie

BMU SS Paper Templates: Background Blenders

BMU SS Paper Templates: Edgers Biggie

STI Fall Watercolors Collection Mini

My watercolor painting

and my own photo

I saw this thumbnail and said, "Whose gorgeous layout is this??" It's magnificent! I love seeing your watercolors and this is truly a WOW. The colors, and the whole scene, are so lovely. I like that you included the orginal photo in the corner and that you tucked your journaling and the cute journaling strips into the corner as well, to leave the gorgeous scene front and center for us to enjoy. This is a page to linger on....

I was so busy racing off to check out colours I never commented on that amazing painting... It is just beautiful... the depth of the layers and toning, it has great perspective and a real depth in that water.... love the texture too.... blending into the paper like that looks super... this is a stunning page...

Absolutely beautiful, Marilyn. The extension of the sky into the background is wonderful, and the reflection is luminous. I always love a blue/purple palette, and this combination is lovely.
