4Apr13 - Too Many Eggs!

Although I don't dislike yellow, I don't usually scrap really yellow pages. So, here's my layout for the not-your-favorite-color-challenge.

Too Many Eggs

Our chickens usually keep us overrun with eggs!

All supplies from French Country Collection, except JCO_Ashley_Special (coordinates with Ashley Collection) and eggs (Trine Secher) and eggbeater (Mo Jackson)

Font is French Script

Edited to add: The red border around the page is a 16 pixel stroke with craquelure filter applied. Hard to see here, but looks cool at full size! :)

I love this. The textured paper looks great, especially with the flowers and you've blended it so nicely into the yellow. Great photo and I really like your choice of embellishments and how you've clustered them. Such a nice country kitchen look.

For some reason, I associate red and yellow with kitchens so I think your colors look absolutely perfect here! Super clusters, and I love the mix of nostalgic embellishments. Your photo is beautiful, and I love how you used your potholder as an inspiration. Cute title, too.

PS - Thanks for the info on how you made that great "frame". I'm writing that one down for a future scraplift. :D

Actually, the frame is from the French Collection, the instructions were for the red border which you can't see so well in this tiny photo! I'll edit the description to explain that. But! you can get a similar effect by drawing a rectangle on a new layer with the selection tool, adding a wide stroke, then play around with the filters. If you apply the clouds filter to a new layer and clip it to your stroke, you can get a marble look. Apply more filters to that, more strokes, tinker with the contrast, color, etc. I can completely lose track of time playing with Photoshop!

This LO is wonderful and would make a great picture to hang in any country kitchen--hadn't thought about adding filters to strokes--have to try that sometime!

I love this! And I like that tone of yellow, but not brights. I'll have to get the French Country Collection! Great layout.

This came out so lovely. I really like that soft yellow and red together. The textured paper looks great here too. Your embellishments are so fun and I enjoyed your explanation on your layerin effects!
