This is my DH holding a Monarch Butterfly on the tips of his fingers so close to his face. We have never been able to get that close before.

Wow, Jane! How did you get it so smooth and blended? that's a wonderful photo moment, and you captured the emotion in your layout.

What a beautiful layout, Jane! Your blending is just lovely and what a wonderful moment you've captured in your photo! I love the touch of the pretty flowers and the way you've done your beautiful quote is fabulous!

How lovely, Jane. And how fortunate you were to catch this photo. I was so focused on the butterfly that I almost missed your husband's face! I love the soft yellow you used, the diagonal stripes, the blending, the minimal embellishments - everything. Beautifully created!

I had no idea there are Monarchs in New Zealand! Their migration from Canada to Mexico and back again is really among the most amazing feats of any creature in the world - especially the 4th generation. I love finding myself in a swarm of them. Your photo is fantastic! I love how you've made the butterfly stand out, while keeping your husband in the photo. Beautiful blending and bokeh!

love how your butterfly is so crisp yet the rest of the photo is muted and blended. Great technique. Care to share how you managed it?
