Mess or Masterpiece

I had to journal about the layout, because I have no idea about the photo. It was taken with my very first digital camera at a wrestling tournament, and I have no idea who is in the photo. I think I see my husband in the background on the bleachers, but there's no way to enlarge it due to the poor quality of the photo. It is what it is. None of my pics, NONE, worked together.

Papers are from A New Me, Cats Have Staff, and Andrea's Pocket Life May

Embellishments: a rhinestone from Afternoon Tea, a number 8 from A New Me embellishments, a leather photo corner from Cowboy Up, a cake stand from B Sweet, and a life preserver from Chesapeake.

The alpha is from Bee's Knees

The brush is Via Dolorosa Masks

The only thing that might not be obvious is the life preserver. I duplicated it multiple times and lined it up, and merged them. They are arranged in a square and at the edge of the top paper, with the yellow paper clipped to it. The brown Cats Have Staff paper is clipped to the mask and the #8. I duplicated and arranged the photo corners in a zig zaggy ribbon thing. The photo is clipped to the alpha shapes, and I also used the alpha for the title.

Actually I like the general layout, but the photo, and the colors are Blech. But I had fun!

LOL...you did a great job of making a LO work - considering you didn't even know who was in the photo! Just think, you can now delete the photo and replace it with something else - make a few tweaks and you're good to go for something you might want to keep! Thanks for sharing!

This is soooo cute! I love the wrestler sitting on the little table. It looks like some kind of a bizarre tea party that one could only find during Mischief week! With all that creative design, I have to vote MASTERPIECE! (quirky masterpiece, but masterpiece nonetheless!)

I love what you did, so creative, I would never have thought to turn a photo corner into a ribbon, or use the number 8 like you did. It's a masterpiece of creativity in my eyes.

Oh this is great Elisha and I love your journaling and it made me smile - exactly why I love Mess or Masterpiece! Although I do admit it took me a while the first time to let go of "Miss Perfect". :) I like how you circled your photo to make it look like three and your background is gorgeous. You did some really creatively clever things here with the photo corners, the 8's and the diamonds. Super work - no wonder you have that costume on! Glad you joined in the fun and challenge - it was so nice to see you. :)

Oh, the photo is just too funny with the sweet and feminine "other stuff" on your page! I absolutely love your journaling -- too true -- and the great way you managed to put all those varied pieces together so that the layout actually looks good. Great job!

Elisha, I think you did an amazing job of uniting your disparate picks into a layout. You're right - I couldn't figure out where the life preserver was. But I love what you did with the eights - didn't even process them as numbers at first - and with the photo corners - very creative! And your journaling is delightful.

I still don't see the life preserver! And I love what you did with that yellow paper - I need a tut on that. What you did with such different items is very masterful!

I was going to say, interesting draw on the photo. The design is awesome, though. I really like your title cluster - I have those alphas and the combination with the circular photos looks great - I must remember that. The edges of the green paper look so cool, too - I'm not sure I followed your instructions, but I love it! The colors don't really go with the photo, but they are so pretty & springlike. (I actually put this in my favorites - so many things I want to try)
