Scrap Simple Club 4-13 Old Church

Scrap Simple Club 4-13 Old Church

The church and its churchyard are situated in a quiet clearing surrounded by big old trees, dripping with Spanish Moss. The woods around it are lush and somewhat overgrown. I tried to capture the mood of Historic Spanish Point here, and was helped by the filigree designs from this month's Scrap Simple Club. Thanks for looking!

Oh, Diane I saw this on the MB and knew it had to be you! What a lovely page and it's so impressive to think it's SS so you colored it all yourself. Your photos are gorgeous and you picked the perfect fancy frames to really show each one off even more. I really like your OOB palm tree and the soft, mossy green background you created. Super work - absolutely stunning.
This is so lovely! I really like the way you've captured the old Spanish feel with the filigree and color scheme. You really did a masterful job with the background here--spot on perfect! The date on the side is a whimsical touch. Good job!
Stunning!! The filigree is inspired here, it not only gives a heritage feel but a Spanish feel! Good thinking!! The colours are beautiful and the soft muted tones work beautifully with the photos :-)
I love those old churches and take photos of them everywhere. You did a great job on this. Those frames are perfect for churches.. I like the blended background, too.
So, so pretty! I just love photos of churches and have tons of them myself. This one with the wrought iron is so perfect with the filigree and I love how you emulated the mossy-feel. Super layout!
There is a calmness in the pictures --a time to reflect. very nice. I love to see old churches and think of the countless ones that entered in and got guidance and were comforted or inspired.
I love the way you've stylized the frames to match the wrought iron fencing around the churchyard. Really beautiful work!
The frames work so perfectly with your lovely photos. I love the font and the lace.
What a lovely little church, and you've chosen the perfect background and embellishments to present it in your beautiful layout. Dixie Lee is right - the whole layout is calm and peaceful, and quite southern. I really like the layout template you chose - I need to get that one!
Gorgeous photos highlighted beautifully with the ornate metal frames. Lovely page!
