May SG club--Childhood memory

This started as a NSD layout about a childhood memory--but it just wouldn't come together for the life of me. but after futzing with it a little here a little there during this busy week, it finally started to flow.

it's all from this month's kit.

Journaling: As a child i would often spend time with my grandfather in his garden. Among the vegetables, he would often plant flowers. There were always lots of zinnias and snapdragons. One day, as i was watching the bees disappear into the flowers, only to emerge again, i asked him about them, and he showed me, with his sandpapery hands how to gently squeeze the flower to get them to open it’s dragon mouth. It is one of my strongest memories of him, and i strive to garden as he did. I am certainly not nearly as successful. but i always try to plant snapdragons

to bring his green thumb spirit into my own garden. this year, i got the joy of teaching my own son that same, gentle squeeze...

Pretty page and super journaling. Your photos are wonderful and so is your memories. I remember my Grandpa planting flowers in his garden with the vegetables too and he loved zinnias and would even save the seeds from year to year.
