Winter and Son
I've been playing with effects and blending.
My great grandfather and grandfather. This is the only picture we have of them together and one of the only pictures we have where we can see my grandfather's face. Taken before he married my grandmother. The Winter family moved from Iowa to California sometime between 1920-1930.
Journaling reads:
I wish I had known my great grandfather. My mother says he was a wonderful, kind, loving man. He was tall, and Momma says he had hands the size of hams, that as a child she could easily sit in one hand. I DID know, and love my grandfather. He stayed in my room after his second heart attack and I pretended to nurse him at night, but I really fell asleep. This picture, taken in the early 1930s in Alhambra, California shows them both while they were still in good health. It is easy to see they are father and son here, although it is plain my grandfather got his height from his mother, not is father!
