More playing with silhouette technique. This is a cell phone photo of my GD in front of a cherry tree in full bloom. The trunk, her hair and her jacket all had about the same value, and the blossom tone was close to the skin tone; when I applied a threshold adjustment layer, most of the detail was lost. So I fiddled - lightened her face (and clean up some glare on her glasses), made her shirt (which was striped) all one color, and applied a filter - stamp, I think, but in merging layers I lost the name of that layer, so I'm not sure. I layered the photo between a background made of a textured pattern over cream solid and Brandy's Different Strokes - paper 4, I think; gotta learn to take notes before merging! I know I recolored the paper to bring out purple and pink tones, as Elizabeth's favorite color is still purple. I used lighten blend on the colored paper before merging with the photo. Then I erased the texture from her face, and rebrushed it with a light purple. I softened the edge of the vertical photo with eraser brushes, mostly Lori Cook's Soft Edging brush. The rest of the details are in the EXIF file. Playing can be hard work! TFL
