After a trip overseas and a period of hazy weather, i find myself 2 weeks behind again...

 

This documents the first phase of our week-long trip to the East Malaysian state of Sabah. Here we are at Kota Kinabalu, the capital city, where many of my hubby's relatives reside. My MIL's hometown is actually up in the mountains, at the foot of Mt Kinabalu, but many of her siblings moved down to the coast for further education, and subsequently settled there.

How great that you were able to visit the relatives after 5 years! I imagine they were thrilled to see you and your kiddies, too. I love the deep turquoise of your background and the lively tropical colors of the embellishments, too. By the way, I can tell you it's not just Asian cultures whose gatherings center around food! :lol:
