What i didn't mention in the journalling:
- ministers of the respective countries involved were taking potshots at each other while ordinary citizens suffered
- in population-dense Singapore, tensions ran high as everyone rushed to buy N95 masks and the pharmacies ran out of stock, prompting a few rather tense situations across the country. Despite the haze, however, people still stood in line overnight outside MacDonalds to buy limited edition Hello Kitty toys. All the while complaining about the haze and how the government wasn't doing a proper job dealing with it, whether their complaints were justified or not. Uniquely crazy, uniquely Singapore.
- the morning of the Parent-Teacher meetings, there was ash floating in the air, and my little red car was coated with a light layer of white.
