This is all that remains of the old West Pier in Brighton, kind of makes me sad.

I love the sun rays on your layout, you have captured your childhood memories beautifully, I also like the rusty colors of the pier.

Wonderful technique with the photo, I love your blending work and the wonderful colour match. It is interesting to see a page focussed on a ruin, I like those pages better than perfect pictures usually... this tells a story and gets an emotional response... wonderful page.

I have so many fond memories of Brighton as we used to go there regulary -it was one of the nearest beaches for us to get took about 11/2hrs but we used to have so much fun the drive was worth it.

Wonderful blending its got such a ghostly feel to it so perfect for this structure.

Oh this is so sad but what a beautifully special tribute you have created, Valerie! I like the almost dreamy quality to your page and your choice of background and blending make this almost a magical page. :) Your embellishment cluster is beautiful too - I have those collections so I like seeing what you put together into such a super whole. Gorgeous layout and great work. :)

This is a beautiful page. The story is sad, but at least your memories will last. Nice picture and blending, the colors you chose help create the mood. Very nice page, I like it.

I love the effect of your background blending on your photo. It softens the photo but it also reminds us that the pier is going away. Beautiful concept and beautiful page!

Beautiful pic and LO, Valerie. Love the greys that let the deep blue-green sea shine. Such a beautiful pier. Love this challenge.

Love the grayed background with the beams of light flashing across. What a great way to show off your photo.

I think it's wonderful how the photo treatment/blending makes the photo look somewhat ghostlike, which is apropos for a ruins. That is sad...and your page reflects that emotion in a hauntingly beautiful way.
