Staycation 2013: Farm Fresh Recipe Chat & Challenge - "Pickled Beets"

My Mom made these pickled beets from my Dad's Mom's recipe, hence no real measurements. But, it's easy enough to follow! :)

I scanned her recipe card, so it's in my Mom's handwriting for me to have.

(PS I forgot to say I made those beets at Christmas and that's where I got the photos from!)

For this recipe card I used:

ABR Batter Up Collection Mini

BMU With Love Collection Mini

KMC Monster Truck Special

Isn't it wonderful that we live in a digital age and can scan these precious memorabilia? I love this! Sounds like an easy recipe, too.... and I happen to have some beets in the fridge right now, too. :)

I love beetroot salad. I never quite knew the right proportions for bottling them. I have also never added cloves and bay leaves. I'm going to try this. I love that it's your Mom's handwriting.

That is a wonderful thing, Marilyn, to be able to scan your Mom's hand written recipes. I have a few of my Mom's written on scratch paper. We also pickled beets sometimes. I'll have to try this recipe.

I love pickled beets and this recipe looks super easy. Great idea to scan the actual card, so nice to have your mom's handwriting - I may try that sometime, except all our favorite recipes are all brown and spotted. Love the pretty double border - perfect for a beets recipe.
