03aug13 Sat colour chlg - proper layout

I had a layout hanging around I posted for this challenge but then I went off and actually made a brand new one, which is this page! I wasn't sure about the red initially but I found what I think works well and a lovely couple of papers in Durin's Vintage Grunge Collection. In fact, this is a rarity for me, a one collection wonder!

Great use of this collection, Jode. Love the vintage look. Outstanding photo; love the foreground defining the old buildings and the sense of isolation it conveys. Would love to know what filter (or technique) you used to get that image.

WOW, Jode - well not surprising since you ARE a wonder! Your photo and treatment are gorgeous and I really like how you blended it onto a page mimicking the grasses. I also really like all the different background pieces (including the hidden color swatch!) that you put together so artfully. I actually like the red flowers and the collection you used, but it IS hard to believe that you used only one kit! Girl after-my-own-heart, I always say I"m too lazy to go farther than one collection! :D Great layout. :)

Wow, that's a neat technique on the photo - love the vintage postcard look. The background floral paper really adds to the vintage feel (and it's a gorgeous paper, too). I think you really needed the pops of red, it would be a little monochromatic-ish otherwise. Isn't it fun to use a single collection, I hardly ever do either.

Jody that is just beautiful. Depicts our great country beautifully. The pop of red really makes it & I love the colour swatch just peeking out. Love the technique you used on the photo.

Your landscape photos are my favorites! I love the reds. It looks wonderful with the vintage feel of the rest of the page. What a pretty, pretty place, so vast and open. Great page and job in using 1 kit. I've got that collection too and must use soon.

I do like whatever the effect is that you used on that photo... makes it look like an old fashioned postcard. The colour swatch tucked in down the side is a nice effect.

That's a great photo and very pretty clusters but I really love the background paper. It's really lovely. I like the grungy look on the photo.
