Thursday Challenge August 8, 2013: "SUN"

Here is my layout for this week's Thursday Challenge using the prompt - "Nature and Me". Like last week, even though I created this challenge, I had a hard time making a layout! I finally found it easiest to follow my directions step-by-step exactly and after a while a layout started to emerge. 
When I thought about my relationship to nature I was sitting at the town pool on a beautiful summer day with the sun's rays beaming down on me. I realized how much I like sunlight and that comes from my happy childhood summers playing on the beach on the hot sand in the blazing sun. So, my nature symbol is the SUN. And since I wanted to convey the warm, safe and happy days I remembered, I started creating a background using papers that seemed to show that. I put one paper over another, blended them and even cropped a few and arranged them all over the page.
Next, I looked through my stash to find words and elements to do with sun, put them on the background and played with blending and placement. After a while it became fun - I've never had so many layers on a page!
