Thursday Challenge August 22, 2013: "Salt Air"

Here is my layout for the Thursday 8-22-13 Art Journaling Challenge found HERE.

A very strong sense memory for me is the smell of salt/sea air. It triggers me right back to many happy childhood summers spent at the NJ shore. I had trouble putting this page together, it doesn't have a lot of contrast, but is sort of soft and misty - which is my "feel" of the salt, sea air that almost sticks to you.

For this layout I used:

CRO Sea Life's Beauty Collection Mini

BMU SS Paper Templates: Background Blenders 5

KME Brush Set: Tike Transports 2

MRE Brush Set: Drop Hearts

TCS Naturescape Collection Biggie

KVE SS Tools: Styles - Starburst Pastels

BMU Brush Set: Sunbursts

ABR SS Embellishment Templates: Title It: Beach

BMU SS Paper Templates: Edgers Biggie

I love the soft misty feel to your page, it is so reminiscent of sea spray, just like in your Wiki piece... I like the soft waves, the big waves/clouds...and mostly - the little YOU!!! How cute is she!?!?!? The little You doll looks so adorable there in her bathers... I can feel the love of the sea right there. Wonderfully expressive page.

Gorgeous, beautiful page, Marilyn! I love the way you've blended all of those feelings that come to mind when you think of the salty air - childhood memories are some of the best and you've certainly captured yours in your layout! Wonderfully done!

So pretty Marilyn, I love all the words scattered about. Lovely colors. I really like the little stick figure, did you make it yourself?

Nothing like the NJ shore, is there, Marilyn? Yep, you got it down! Just those blues, turquoises, corals and whites takes me there. The words make me feel the sand and the stick figure makes me feel like a kid at the shore with you! Wonderful page!!
