I'm not completely happy at all with this, but had to stop after spending too much time on it - I wanted to use all of the senses and when I thought of all of the senses, I thought of my Mother - her hands, her smell, her touch......so that's where I was going.

Oh Sara, oh Sara. This is so worth waiting for and my, my - so very touching it made me tear. I very much sense your Mama, my Mom - all Mom's and their comfort. Wow... My sister and I talked about our Mom's hands - she laughed, but we both had a sense memory of them so I FEEL your layout so well. You background is gorgeous and so beautifully blended and put together. Your journaling is so special and the words you scattered around the page so artfully in different colors, sizes and form really bring us into the "sense" of a Mother's care. I really love how you blended in that sweet little girl and the lovely drawing of hands - it's all so gorgeous and comes together so wonderfully. I am in awe of what your page. Super page and thanks for sharing and adding your own personal sense memory and beautiful creation to the Thursday Art Journaling Challenge :)

Yep I love it too! Being a mother as well as a child I can see this from both sides and I know we live what we learn so this is an interesting page as a legacy... it makes me wonder if my kids will remember me for the little things like my perfume and the rubs on their backs, the cuddles and the dreadful singing lol... I love your symbolism here, from the little girl to the hands and the word art... The background is wonderfully complex and composed - much like I imagine your mother was... What a special page :-)

I think they liked it, Sara! And so do I. I especially like the way you used the splash of blue to focus on the lovely image of hands and your journaling, which distills the essence of mothers. Beautiful page, Sara.

This is absolutely wonderful! I love everything you brought into it... including the journaling. Wow; it's quite impressive -- and lots better than you probably think it is, LOL. You did a fabulous job here with the colors (they remind me, somehow, of deep thought), the blending, the elements.

Sara, you always do such wonderful pages. This is a beautiful tribute to your mother. The background paper is beautiful and all of the elements that you used are great. I love that little girl. She is so forties/fifties and brings back wonderful memories of my childhood to me. Where did you find her? Your journaling is so thoughtful and special. The hands go so well with your journaling. Fabulous page.
